Welcome Lords and Ladies!
Lords & Ladies Manasco, Slater and Yates
November 16, 2002
Lord and Lady Manasco,
in attendance with Mum and Pop of the Lady; Lord and Lady Slater
and relation of the Lord; Lady Terri and Lord Stacy
did attend in good faith a fine dinner with the King and Queen of Scotland
May we not lose our heads due to the fuzzy photo of the King and Queen.
We beg forgiveness!
The Boare's Heade Feaste
The King and Queen of Scotland
The royal event took place in the Renaissance Castle of Muskogee
in the period 1539.
True to the time period were the fashions, food and entertainment.
Lady Iva Slater, Mum to the Lady,
provided seamstress unto the Royal Couple.
Lady Iva began in May of 2002, working diligently until November.
The gown was crafted with the finest crushed cranberry velvet brocade,
adorned with liquid gold lame', pearls, lace, and the finest of trims.
A matching camisol did hide well the Lady's flesh of the navel
while a proper French Hood in fabric the same adorned her Royal Head,
which was a cascade of spiral curls beneath her thighs yet well covered
by a fine gold mesh netting.
Beautiful golden slippers adorned with irridescent sequins and pearls
did provide comfort for her Lady all the night long.
Lest anyone know, but the Lady did wear the very hoop which Mum
had also worn forty one years back whence did she marry Lord Slater, father to Lady Manasco.
Might the lady mention dear Mum had to add four inches
to the waist in the hoop so as to fit her daughter.
Dearest Mum was quite the tiny waisted bride indeed!
Perhaps a leotard is in order next year? *wink*
Lord Manasco was dressed in the finest of furs to adorn his silken robe
which matched the Lady's beautiful gown.
A royal golden sash held his Royal Sizeness in well
while the finest silken leotards did keep his legs warm.
Lord Manasco wore chains of gold, rubies in multiple and diamonds
which would have fed a family for a lifetime.
Entrance to the castle began with curtseys and bows of passers-by to those in attendance.
Perhaps many mistaked the Lord and Lady and the Royal Couple?
The King and Queen did make a grand entrance,
providing humor and risque remarks about the Queen's buns which
would be lusted after.
Ye Royal Kitchen
Might we clarify the scent of such buns waifed from the kitchen
as we waited for the bounty-breasted serving wenches to bear them.
Trainer Lord Vinterhawk with Val; well breasted bird of the evening
The evening progressed with amazing bouts of freedom as performed
by Val, a gorgeous Red Hawk trained by Lord Vinterhawk.
Multiple birds of a feather stood proud with trainers about the dining area,
occasionally displaying wingspan and a feat of interest when
one bird was allowed to closely swoop the diners,
providing a rush of air so as to cool the feaste attendees.
But a few of the Purple Roses of Cairo,
Zahira and Sabeeha
Below is a photo from Shadia's website, of which she retains copyright to:
But of course there were only the finest of belly dancing's beauties at the tables.
The Purple Roses of Cairo were present,
with the very best dancer at the end of
the Lord and Lady's own table.
Ah, but a beauty indeed she was!
Most certainly the other ladies were equally as talented,
but we were able to view but one lovely lady for all those also trying to view.
Sabeeha is shown above on the left of the photo and also below.
She is from the Professional Belly Dancers out of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
(Immediate text below from the Shadia website)
"Sabeehah is the newest member of the Purple Roses of Cairo.
She was active in dance when she was younger, but stopped dancing several years ago.
Finding Shadia and Middle Eastern dance in early 2000
rekindled her love of dance and creativity."
End of text from Shadia website.
The Boare's Head
Dining was fit for a King, and it was!
Rolls and tufts of bread a-plenty were served throughout the night
as was a fine slab of pork, vegetables and a fine broccoli-cheese soup
served in a sturdy tuft of bun seen below:
Bread and bowl in one, quite edible.
Dessert was a grand apple tart with chocolate lacing
and a candied leaf atop the treat.
But of course one must take a moment from such
uplifting festivities to calm the nerves and take a walk
in the Castle Gardens, which were indoors, yet such a cold temperature even so.
A bit of beverage, M'Lord?
The pub provided a mixture of fruitful ferment!
The King later approached Lord Manasco
in an attempt to determine whether he was "sent" to replace him.
Indeed, Lord Manasco assured His Majesty that he merely wished to
pattern himself after His Majesty.
But of course the Mum received high affection from His Hiness!
The King was quite a flirt, savoring ladies throughout the evening,
finding Lady Slater quite a treat!
Many attendees felt the passion for dancing!
The young couple in the black, about the middle of the photo
were very entertaining and quite true to proper!
