This page is far from finished.

Welcome to our online resource for those who may recently have discovered daylilies.
Often someone who is new to daylilies is overwhelmed by the information,
the choices, and most of all...the prices! Don't touch that checkbook until you've visited our site...
unless of course, you have money to burn.

I will be listing many wonderful daylilies in the months to come,
in both seed and plant form. I'll provide as much information (free, of course)
as I can to assist you so that you can grow lilies without the hassle, the cost and the worry.

Ah,the Daylily. Often mistakenly spelled with an extra "L". Gorgeous soldiers waving in the breeze in a multitude of colors.
To me, they represent the country life, and how better to live country than to have daylilies everywhere?

Sunshine, (don't worry, they are fine in part sun, too!)
well drained soil and room to grow is all these wonderful plants ask!
In return, you will see blossom after blossom in a rainbow of colors, multiplying every year!
Choose one, two, as many as you need. Gorgeous alone or in groups, single colors or in mass of many, you choose.
A very easy-to-care-for plant which will return every year to please you even more as the years go by!

DAYLILY SEEDS

DIP & TET MIXTURE Hemerocallis 20 + seeds - $2.50.
If you see it listed on our daylily page, you can bet it took part in our pollination program! Beautiful plants in both our garden beds as well as our own personal plants are used in producing some wonderful crosses each summer. Plenty of everything in this batch!

Stella D'Oro seeds have been kept separate so you won't have to wait for years to see the same old yellow fellow. For those who desire Stellas, of course, we also have a great Stella seed package coming, having been pollinated with many of our finest registered cultivars!
Each seed will produce a plant which will multiply every year for you, providing many plants for mere pocket change!
We have a Honey Bee apiary and are very pleased to give our bees the run of the place, but rest assured, the parents of these seeds are all named cultivars including any you see listed below.

DAYLILY PLANTS

At this time we are not selling plants. I am working full time outside of the home, and as such have,
well, literally lost my life and have zero time. Sigh.

So many lilies, so little time!

A key to figuring out the confusing jibberish next to each daylily:

AVG - Average
CSELF - Complete Self. Bloom is entirely one color
DBL - Double blooms
DIP - Diploid 22 chromosomes
DOR - Dormant foliage in winter
EVR - Evergreen foliage in winter
EYE - Bloom has a center eye
EXT - Extended bloom period
FRA - Fragrant
NOC - Nocturnal, blooms in the evening
PLY - Polytepal. Daylilies normally have 3 petals, 3 sepals. Polys have more than 3.
SELF - All segments the same color except eye
SPDV - Spider Variant
TET - Tetrapolid 44 chromosomes
UNF - Unusual form

Click any of the images to see a larger picture of the daylily. Move your mouse cursor over the image to see the name and detail of each daylily. If you are seeing a red letter X, be sure you are connected to the internet and then right click your mouse, then click 'show picture'. Slow computers and slow servers are often the reason pictures will not show for you.
Be sure to click your refresh button.

PLANTS ARE NOT FOR SALE AT THIS TIME.

Price, if for sale, is listed next to cultivar. Double fans are shipped.
Size depends on cultivar and age, though most are of blooming size.
Shipping generally does not exceed $10.00 for your entire daylily order,
unless you are ordering more than ten plants.

If there is not a price listed next to the item, you may inquire
but it is likely not for sale at this time.

SEEDLINGS

Parentage unknown. Difficult to capture true color with my camera. Actual color is a darker plum, not pink. Fragrant. Multiplies wonderfully! A daylily grown from seed, parentage unknown. Very very dark A daylily grown from seed, parentage unknown, though this particular bed was mainly Lady Neva offspring.

LOST SOULS

As yet unidentified daylilies. Some are registered cultivars with missing tags, others are
gifts from well meaning friends:

146 147 Not a seedling, but a lost soul. Very tall. Reminds me of Screech Owl, but I have no tag, no proof of it's name, thus it remains a look-alike without paperwork in my garden Tag mix up, a toss between Royal Robe and a lost soul. Provided with nothing more than a list to search. I've not taken the time to research yet. An absolutely stunning daylily with no name. Not a seedling, but a lost soul with a missing tag.

BALI HAI BALI HAI Wild 1973 22" M 5" Pink Melon with Raised Orchid Midribs Dor Dip
I find it hard to believe this beauty has been around since 1973. Indeed a gorgeous daylily I hope to always have in my garden. Big beautiful blooms. Because I save seed from my daylilies, this one makes it tough not to cut for a bouquet in the house. Resist, resist!

BAMA MUSIC BAMA MUSIC Hardy 1966 28" M 5" Pale Pink Self Dor Dip
Parentage: Frances Fay (1957) x Seedling. In a day when it's hard to find PINK PINK and not pink with a hint of salmon, peach or otherwise, Bama Music truly fits the bill. Tough blooms stand strong in the rains while others wilt from the wetness. Pistils are so long that you don't have to snap off a stamen to pollinate...gently arch it over, dab and you're done. I breed this one back to itself in hopes of keeping that true pink color going for future seedlings. A smashing bouquet selection.

CRADLE SONG CRADLE SONG Milliken 1954 22" EMRE Medium Yellow Self Evr Dip Noc
Don't make the mistake of passing this one over from the tiny preview picture. It's more than what you might think is just another yellow. Have a closer look! An interesting trait worthy of further consideration by breeders, Cradle Song features what appears to be a dusting of color about it's petals, spreading from the throat outward. Very soft yet attention getting! Registered as Nocturnal, but blooms beautifully in the part shade in daytime. Rapid reproduction.

FLORE PLENO FLORE PLENO Don't pass this one by as 'wild', folks, it has much to offer. Best if planted in masse where it may roam freely without mingling with registered cultivars, as it has a tendency to go forth and conquer the garden beds.

Parentage: Judah x Tetra Mavis Smith. Now THIS is a tough cookie. Strong, sturdy support for multiple traffic-stopping blooms at once. Huge blossoms command your attention, and my, do they get it, even on through the evening after a long, hot day. Though my lilies are mainly planted in rows for the display beds, this one would stop traffic when planted en masse! A Tetraploid I use for pollinating often. Very strong plant! Anthers are slow to open, but worth the wait for pollen. A real booger to breed, at least in my garden.

FRANS HALS FRANS HALS Flory 1955 24" MLA Bright Rust w/ Orange Bicolor and Creamy Orange Midribs Dor Dip
Though the foliage is not as wide as some, it is plentiful. A good performer throughout the season. Bright colors in a bi-color beauty! What I found interesting about Frans Hals is that once it is planted, it's roots are deep and strong, as if to say it is here to stay!

FULVA FULVA
Commonly known as the Ditch Lily, Tawny Daylily, Railroad Lily, etc. Often snubbed as wild and worthless, but not to those who know and appreciate it's history. Without this original we would not have made the breeding advances in today's hybrids. Deserving of a home of it's own due to it's spreading tendencies.

GRAMMIE'S LIST GRAMMIE'S LIST Very similar to Fragrant Pastel Cheers, but I have both, and Grammie's List is definitely a different tone. FPC seems a bit on the yellow side, while GL has a tinge more peachy color which did not show up in my most recent photos. Both are fine cultivars. Oddly enough, I find a few traits of both these cultivars to be seen in Wedding Band. Not exact, mind you, but I see where the older cutivars have definitely made a contribution to the newer daylilies of today.

Can you beat all this great lily has to offer?? Stunning color, huge bloom, Semi-evergreen foliage, a rebloomer AND a Tet. It almost advertises pollinating potential! A result of crossing Knave x Chicago Royal. Awart of Merit 1979. Lenington All-American Award 1989.

As of May 28, 2005, this one stood the tallest in both of our daylily gardens. A strong tendency to put off proliferations. Winner of the Stout award in 1959.

SATAN'S FIRE SATAN'S FIRE Santa Lucia 1998 32" M 4.5" Red with Darker Eye and Orange Eye Evr Tet. Truly an intense bloom. If you could see it in person, you would fully understand how it was named. The bloom's intense center actually seems to radiate heat and fire! Beautiful!

This one is appropriately named! It's tall height and ravishing color seems to screech for your attention! A Tetraploid with good value for further hybridization. And what better once it captures your attention...it's also fragrant!

I confess to squealing with delight when this one opens each year. No matter how many times I see it, I still can't help but to become excited when it blooms. I could sit and adore it for hours if I didn't have a real life. It's hard to believe it is such a low priced daylily.

What a wonderful scent this one puts off. Don't be surprised if it blooms in single form during it's first year. See this image to see a single form of this cultivar.

Sometimes difficult to capture the true colors. This image was taken at dusk with a flash. The bloom was a full day old, so not as fresh as it should have been for picture taking.

TERRI ELLIS TERRI ELLIS TERRI ELLIS TERRI ELLIS Aden 1978 24" 6.5" M Sev Tet Ext Pink Self with Green throat. Teri Ellis has been in my garden since the beginning, so I was rather surprised to find it was difficult to locate on the internet. Few have images of Teri Ellis available. Oddly enough, Teri Ellis is a cultivar one would imagine to be in many gardens. It is a tough plant with many blooms all at once in a beautiful shade of pink which I consider difficult to describe. While it is registered as a pink, it has a tiny touch of what I call a pastel salmon just begging to be noticed. While it does have a green throat, it does not stand out and is in fact tucked deep inside. A nice plant with bountiful blooms. It's a keeper in my garden! Yet another strong plant I rely on for hybridizing pollen.
