Questions and answers about ordering from Wuv'n Acres

The following information is provided for your convenience so you will know what to expect when purchasing from us.

Who and what is Wuv'n Acres?

Pronounced WUH-VIN, like LOVIN', but with a 'W'.


Wuv'n Acres is owned and operated by Roger and Karen Manasco

Roger is a lifelong Oklahoma resident while Karen arrived in Oklahoma in 1992.
It all began back in 1996 as a small (and we're still small) operation which evolved
after Roger brought home a decorative gourd from a produce stand in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Making a long story short, that one gourd produced seed, which was planted - producing a
small bumper crop of gourds. The first building block of our business was that very gourd!

The name evolved from nicknames Roger and Karen gave one another.
It seemed only right that with such mooshy nicknames, the farm name should be equally mooshy.
And so it is. Wuv'n Acres.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes! You can complete an online order all by yourself using your Paypal account
You may use your Mastercard, Visa, American Express or Discover.

At this time phone calls are next to impossible, as I do work full time outside of the home and do not
arrive home until late in the evening, then I am off to commute again in the morning.
Weekend phone calls are best, my apologies.


If you would like to leave your name and phone number on our machine, I'll gladly return your call early in the evening
or on the weekend, which at this time would be best if our time zones are completely opposite.

You may leave your credit card information on the machine, but this is strictly your choice. I don't blame you
if you feel uncomfortable doing so, and if you prefer to wait until we speak, that is completely understandable.
Besides, the cats have been known to listen in on our phone messages.


Is it safe to give you this information?

We use a secure 128 bit virtual terminal through Paypal which enables acceptance of four major credit systems, as well as Paypal.
If you have any questions about the security of Paypal, feel free to visit their website, which offers excellent security features.
Quite simply, we're consumers, too, and if we wouldn't use it, we would not offer it as an option to our own customers.

We do not store, keep, sell, trade, or even try to memorize your credit card information.
Once the order is processed, it's gone from our computer. If you are a repeat customer and would like to request that we keep the information on file for future orders, we can do this for you, just be sure to mention the next time you order.

I don't use credit cards. How else can I order?

You may also use old fashioned snail mail using any of the following payment methods:

  • Money order (American)
  • Well concealed cash (a page or two out of a colorful magazine works well)
  • Personal check from an American Bank
  • The option to send credit card information via snail mail is available for those who prefer this manner.

    We provide an online ordering form which you may print directly from your computer.
    Otherwise, you can simply jot down your order on a standard sheet of paper and mail it to Wuv'n Acres.

    Do you ship to countries other than the United States?

    Well, yes and no. Sadly, our experience with shipping out of the country has sometimes not been satisfactory.
    Many countries have restrictions in place with regard to seeds traveling about their borders.
    While I do not know the rules and regulations for all countries, if I am aware of them I will absolutely not ship illegally.
    If your country does allow seed import, you acknowlege responsibility for the order if it is held at customs.
    Once it ships from our home we cannot be responsible for it's loss or failed delivery, so no matter where the order goes,
    Consider insurance, delivery confirmation, etc.

    Please do not ask me to lie on the customs forms. If there are garden seeds in the envelope, I must
    state such on the forms, which are attached to the envelope. If your country does not allow import of such items,
    why ask me to risk all I've worked for so you can have it in your garden?
    I will abide by all laws, and continue to research the matter to ensure I am within the law when shipping items.

    Having stated all of the above, by ordering from out of the United States, you acknowledge that if allowed, I will ship them,
    but in the event they are held at the border, I can not and will not be held responsible for replacement or refund.
    I do not mean to sound brash, but I have paid for too many orders not received by customers out of the U.S. only to find the seed
    order was merely taking longer to arrive.

    After I place my order, then what?

    You will receive confirmation of payment within a few days.
    Some weeks I am much busier than others, but I strive to be prompt!
    At present, March 2008, I am working full time outside of the house. The orders are
    still being shipped, but taking a bit longer, as I am shipping on average once a week - Monday or Tuesdays.
    Please realize that I do have a job outside of this site, as well as a life.

    If you do not receive confirmation in one week, please email me!

    Please note that if you have one of those handy dandy spam blockers and
    my email is met with a "click here to add yourself to my list of approved senders", I will not do so.

    In sending email messages my way, be aware that subject lines such as "Yo" "Hey" "What's up?" or other similar
    greetings may not only be ignored, but potentially deleted without opening. ;-)

    Another mention, when I send payment receipt and receive this in return:

    I apologize for this automatic reply to your email.
    To control spam, I now allow incoming messages only from senders I have approved beforehand...

    I will not fill out a request form to be approve to send anyone email, I'm sorry.

    Please note, the end of May is a very, very busy time for me. Between anniversaries, birthdays and the number of other activities going on, I often run behind on my normal life as well as my work schedule. Please bear with me. I'm trying to maintain the gardens, the house, the business and everything else all at one time.

    A few days? Why not an automatic confirmation?

    Please note that one little person (that would be me) will be accepting your payment, counting your seeds, packaging your seeds, labeling, shipping, typing, everything. While I am typically prompt in sending out payment receipts, there are times when ten fingers can only move so fast, especially during the busy season.
    I suppose we could install a robot to email you, but that just doesn't seem very personal to me. If you receive an email from Wuv'n Acres, we sent it especially to you and for you. Truth be told, 'we' is generally 'I'.

    What is your guarantee on the seeds?

    We do not offer a guarantee on our seeds because we do not sell out of date, old, or clearance sale items.
    All seeds are collected according to season. All leftover seeds are planted about our gardens, given away to friends, tossed about the wild area behind our home, etc. Simply stated, if you provide the proper care for the seeds, there is no reason they should not germinate properly.

    Some of our seeds are kept in the refrigerator, such as Hemerocallis (Daylily), Lavandula (Lavender), Poppy, etc.
    If stratification is needed, we try to include this information with your seed instructions. You may need to subject your seeds to the proper stratification period according to the seed needs to break dormancy. We provide the seed, you provide the environment.

    Seeds are an amazing product of Mother Nature. Some of them sprout without anyone knowing it, some need a period of hibernation so to speak - known as stratification. Some seeds have such a hard shell that they must be nicked or filed - known as scarification. We offer stratification free of charge with our Lotus and Canna seeds upon customer request. Many seeds have differing needs including complete darkness, full light, fluctuating temperatures and so much more. The problem often arises when a customer purchases seed without having done their homework. We encourage our customers to do as much research on the item as they can. The internet search engines are absolutely full of such information free of charge. We do not claim to 'know it all' nor would we like to. Once you know it all, there is no need to garden anymore, right? We're having fun and learning at the same time you are.

    Are all of the seeds in stock?

    I try hard to keep the site updated with only seeds we have available. Please be sure to select alternates just in case. We will send a refund for any seeds which may be out of stock. Please do not add items to your cart if SOLD OUT is displayed. A very important tidbit, be sure to hit the 'refresh' button before ordering. Some customers have found seeds in stock by going through a cached page, which is the internet's copy of a webpage which may be out of date, but the internet copy may not be as current as our web changes.

    I ordered several weeks ago and have not received my order

    There is no reason an order from us will take several weeks unless it involves a special order which will require time, only when agreed upon by yourself and Wuv'n Acres. Seed orders should take about a week, two if the season is busy. As mentioned above, I'll send an email confirmation of your order receipt. If you do not receive this within one week, please send an email my way.

    First rule of ordering with us, please do not assume we've stolen your money and headed for the Bahamas.
    While we'd sure like to think we'll ever make it there, it isn't going to happen by stealing your seed funds.
    A friendly email will work wonders and I'll immediately check to see what on earth could have gone wrong.

    If it has been several weeks, this would indicate a problem. May I say that electing postal insurance is a wise choice, but without it, we're looking at a mile of red tape and delay.

    There are a few things to consider when a package may be lost:
  • How was payment made? Has the document been cashed?
  • If paid via Paypal, please include this information with your inquiry. It has happened that I did not receive a Paypal payment notification via email and am not aware the funds are in our account.
  • Did you forget to mail the payment?
  • Which address did you send your payment to, and when did you mail it?
  • Did your payment through Paypal go through? Were the funds available in your account at that time?
  • Have you observed our statement on shipments out of the United States?

    Comments and suggestions on our printable order form

    Our online order form provides space for comments and suggestions. We welcome constructive comments. As stated above, we accept credit cards through a Paypal virtual transaction service. We have found that many people refuse to use Paypal, which is understandable considering the amount of people so willing to give their credit card information online. Internet users must be wise to the world. There are many tricks, scams and programs designed to imitate Paypal asking for your contact or personal information. Again, as stated above, we mention using caution with ANY credit card. If in doubt, call the company directly. Please consider that using Paypal is our policy.

    Orders containing profanity on the comment form or anywhere on the form will nullify your order. We will not honor orders from persons who cannot contain themselves properly. Rudeness and gardening do not go together well.

    You have many pictures missing, where are they?

    We grow MANY things around Wuv'n Acres, and not just flowers.
    We have family, pets and so much more to enjoy. During the summertime,
    things tend to get very busy and we sometimes miss the small windows for photography.
    Bear with us and we'll hopefully have the image up soon. If you are interested in
