FONDU BOUTEILLE - REPURPOSED GLASS SPIRIT BOTTLE TRAYS

FONDU BOUTEILLE - REPURPOSED GLASS SPIRIT BOTTLE TRAYS

As we are avid fans of recycling, it only seemed right to transform what was once destined to contribute to pollution in a landfill
into something beautiful, not to mention practical and useful.

Each glass bottle is fired to an extreme temperature in our ceramic kiln, then slowly cooled to ensure annealing and durability.
The result is a beautiful glass dish worthy of placement at your next get together.
Chips, dip, cookies and other horsd'oeuvres. Great for holding spare change, loose parts and millions of other items. You decide.

Choose from a large tray with a bit of a boat, or a flat tray. Perhaps a double dish which has been
intentionally fused side by side. We will be adding more dishes every week in many wonderful glass colors.
Keep an eye on our site for new additions, which will include cobalt blue Skye Vodka bottles!

Please note, we ship via USPS Flat Rate, which means we do not make money on the shipping.
You are charged what we are charged, so there is no markup on the shipping for any of our bottle trays.
The lowest rate we can secure is 10.70 for a flat rate box for any size tray.
Check into ordering more than one for shipping savings!

Note that all fired bottles will have what some might consider imperfections. As the temperature inside
the kiln reaches close to 1500 degrees, there is no way to 'peek' in and see what is going on. Trays sometimes
exhibit what is known as devitrification, which is a lengthy word for a small patches of dull sheen, which harms
nothing and in my opinion does not detract from the beauty of the tray. Considering you will likely have food on the
tray, this is not an issue worth mentioning. But there you have it.

The trays are photographed individually. Each tray is unique, so if you order LARGE 5003, that is the only LARGE 5003 there is.
Not a mass scale production, what you order is what you see, and what you will receive.

    LARGE WINE BOTTLE TRAY
15.00. This tray is a larger size, a hair short of 13" long by 5 1/2" wide. It is a beautiful dark olive color I adore! An interesting tidbit about this particular tray is it's raised lip at the end of the tray, naturally formed in the kiln. This bump provides room to place something else at the end of the tray. A large strawberry dipped in chocolate, perhaps? Lovely indentations on the bottom of the tray are formed during firing and only add to the tray's individuality. Handle is elevated slightly to allow easy grasp of the platter. Tray weighs 1 pound, 10.6 ounces. Not a lightweight.

    LARGE WINE BOTTLE TRAY
15.00. A lovely tray of good size, resting at 13" long x just over 5" wide. The color is one I argue with myself over, a toss-up between yellow and olive. A deep golden olive, if you will. Lovely large lip formed at the end of the tray adds a unique flair. Tray handle is raised to allow ease of picking it up. Fill with tidbits, trinkets, cookies, crackers, dip and more. Sides allow for moist dips not to run out or over. Heavy little booger tips the scales at 1 pound, 12.2 ounces.

    LARGE WINE BOTTLE TRAY
15.00. A full pound and 10.4 additional ounces of gorgeous green in a shade I often refer to as lime green, or the color of a green Life Saver candy. Almost 13" long, the handle fully supports the tray, which is over 5" wide. I hesitated to list this one, because I am in love with the prominent hump at the base. Beautiful, beautiful tray with nary a smidgen of devitrification. Sigh. I want to keep it!

    STANDARD WINE BOTTLE TRAY
10.00. Two photos were necessary for this one, as the color is too pretty to describe. A lovely tray of standard size, weighing in at 1 pound, 8 ounces. The sides are curved up in a manner which will allow containment of juicy dips or a plethora of other goodies. Tray sits flat and features a handle for easy transport with or without filling. Just shy of a foot long by 3 3/4" wide. Makes a wonderful hostess gift, or simply to keep for yourself.

    LARGE WINE BOTTLE TRAY
15.00. A large tray, this one weighs in at 1 pound, 11.2 ounces. The color is a beautiful aquamarine that seems to glow in certain light. Very pretty, and can blend in with a multitude of décor styles. A smooth fired tray free which can be used for relishes, desserts, sweets and many other things. Give one to your favorite man for all of his pocket treasures. Big tray of 13" long x 5" wide.

    LARGE WINE BOTTLE TRAY
15.00. A tray of good size, this former golden Chardonnay bottle weighs 1 pound, 13.6 ounces and is 13 ¼” long x 6” wide. Though many of our trays are dish-shaped, this one is a nice flat tray great for serving cheese. Unique bump formed at the end of the tray when the bottle collapsed under the intense heat in the kiln, as well as a well-formed tidy bubble which is conveniently located near the handle – perfect for resting a cheese knife upon. The neat thing about these flat trays is that you can actually turn it upside down if you prefer a completely flat tray, it sits level either way.

    DOUBLE WINE BOTTLE TRAY
20.00. What do you get when you mate two Reisling bottles? A beautifully fused double tray that is a foot long by 7 ½” wide! Think cheese AND crackers. What about Chocolate AND strawberries? The ideas are endless, all in one and ready to go. What a beautiful tray in a soft aquamarine color. A heavy piece at over two and a half pounds (2 lbs, 8.6 ounces to be precise) it is not going anywhere. No slipping and sliding on the table. This one is here to serve. Dish shaped!

    LARGE WINE BOTTLE TRAY
15.00. When I removed this one from the kiln, I was pleased as punch to see it did not have any devitrification! What a great tray! Weighs 1 pound 10.4 ounces and sits flat on either side. If you like the smooth glass side for serving, have at it, or if you require a larger flat area of display, flip it over. Beautiful color very much resembles a green Lifesaver candy. Just shy of 13 ½” long x 6” wide. I love this one!

    BLUE WINE BOTTLE TRAY
15.00. Don’t let a small bit if vit scare you away from this one, once you fill the dish, the rest is complimentary statements from your guests! Beautiful cobalt blue Skyy Vodka bottle is a nice dish with a deep well for containing a good portion of dip, sauce or anything you desire. Crackers, cookies, trinkets, you decide. 11” long x 3 ½” wide with good weight of 1 pound, 1.8 ounces. I love the way the edges are fat and glossy!

    BLUE WINE BOTTLE TRAY
15.00. Once a Riesling, now a wonderful tidbit tray! 13” long x 3 ¼” wide in a beautiful cobalt blue color. Lush, glossy and tubular! The silly thing didn’t fall flat during firing, and as a result, could even be used as a vase if propped up. It holds liquid! Love it! A small amount of devit in the bed of the dish, but again, remember this is but a section without sheen. Very cool item! The end of the bottle gave in to the heat during kiln fire and produced a fabulous hump at the end of the bottle.

    WINE BOTTLE TRAY BLUE
15.00. Memory fails me, I thought this one to be a Skyy Vodka bottle until I noticed it featured a screw-type lid. Whatever it once was, it is now a beautiful tray fully worthy of a spot on your table serving hourdevres. Another bottle with unique hollowness, so if you propped it up, it could serve as a vase! Your neighbor won’t have one of those, will she? 12 ½” x 3 ½” wide and weighing in at 1 pound and 1.4 ounces. A bit of devit in the bottom section of the dish, but fill this tray up and no one is the wiser. Look closely in the photo and you can see what I am calling ‘devit’. The white dots in the photo must be from the camera, as I can’t see them on the tray itself.
